The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Support Department plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and digital transformation across the Polytechnic. Our mission is to seamlessly integrate technology into teaching, learning, research, and day-to-day administration, ensuring the Polytechnic remains agile and future-ready.

As the ICT landscape evolves, we remain committed to aligning our infrastructure and systems with the latest industry standards. From robust IT infrastructure to modern software applications, we strive to deliver solutions that enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and support the Polytechnic’s growth.

In support of the Polytechnic’s broader mission, the ICT Support Department focuses on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable digital services. We maintain the core infrastructure that powers the Polytechnic while providing timely technical support to staff and trainees. Our goal is to foster a technology-driven environment that enables excellence in education, innovation, and service.

ICT Support Department Structure
ICT Manager – in charge of all the ICT Systems.
ICT Technicians – offer ICT support and maintain ICT equipment and Infrastructure.

Services Provided
Audiovisuals Services – Projectors, TVs, Digital Noticeboards – For PPTs, Notices and advertisement.
Email Services - All TNNP Staff are eligible for a @nairobipoly.ac.ke email address that is used for all official communication.
Hardware Services - Repair and maintenance of ICT equipment and infrastructure in the Polytechnic.
Software Services - Standard Software available on all TNNP computers include: OS Windows 11 Pro, Microsoft Office 2016 pro, Kaspersky Endpoint Antivirus, Adobe Reader, WinZip / WinRar, Google Chrome, Edge or Firefox etc.
Network Services – Wired and Wireless connectivity – Ethernet ports (Offices, Staffroom, labs, workshops) and Wi-Fi access points – available across the Polytechnic.
IT Security – Enforce use of strong passwords, Password expiry, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), offsite backups, firewall etc.
User Support – ERP support, Email support, Staff and Student portal support and general ICT inquiry support. (Account Creation, password reset, Wi-Fi and internet connectivity troubleshooting etc.)
