Chemical

The department is as old as the Institute as there used to be Metal Works when it was a high school. With the introduction of 8-4-4 System of education Artisan courses began and later Craft courses were started. In the 90s Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant and Production) options were introduced.

Courses in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning together with Diploma in Chemical Engineering are also offered. Diploma in Petroleum Management is the new course in the department. The department offers both part time and regular courses.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE DEPARTMENT

The Department intends to:

Increase enrolment in all the courses in the department

Launch New Courses such as Biogas Technology

Increase collaborations with other Institutions within and out of the country

Continue its training on safe use of Hydrocarbon Refrigerants
